At 1:45 PM this afternoon, the public was informed that Emperor Topilpopoca of Xiomera had passed away. The cause of death was cited as being the result of complications from the gunshot wounds he sustained several weeks ago. The nation of Xiomera is in a state of mourning and flags all over the IDU are being flown at half-staff remembrance of Emperor Topilpopoca's 18 year reign. He is to be buried at the Imperial Cemetery in Montelin. The deceased emperor's successor has yet to be chosen. President of Libertas Omnium Maximus, Lukas Brown, has not yet formally responded to this event. Speaker Mulberry, however, has made posts on multiple social media platforms offering his condolences. He also stated in one post: "My deepest hope now is that the Xiomeran government will have a peaceful and smooth transition of power."
