In response to yesterday's terrorist attacks, an international coalition has been formed to liberate Vulkaria from the Malvarian Liberation Front and several other terrorist groups. The Department of Defense of Libertas Omnium Maximus announced at 5:30 AM today that they would be joining this coalition and committing upwards of 17,000 troops to the operation. At least 5,250 Army soldiers and Marines have already shipped out and will be landing in Vulkar over the next 24 hours.
Sources within the Maximusian Army indicate that small operations will commence soon after all forces are assembled in Vulkar. Sources also indicate that Shen and Zamastan will be operating out of Vulkar, alongside Maximusian forces.
The Maximusian Department of State announced today that the Vulkarian Embassy will be closing on Saturday. They also highly encouraged all Maximusians in the area to return home as soon as possible.
In response to critics of this rapid mobilization of international forces claiming that Libertas Omnium Maximus was entering an "unwinnable war", President Lucas Brown made the following statement via another short press release. "An unwinnable war is trying to stop the tides or keep the sun from setting. Kamoni and his cronies are not invincible. They can, and will, be eradicated from the face of the earth. Nothing about this campaign will be easy - I never said it would be - but there comes a time when you can't just give up because things look hard. There comes a time when the line has been crossed. That time came when innocent civilians were killed by a terrorist force that we had never even quarreled with. We will not stop until Vulkaria is returned to its former glory and Kamoni is dead. End of story."
A recent poll suggests that nearly 68% of Maximusians also believe that military action is necessary.
