Maxiumsian Forces to begin withdrawal from Vulkaria

Following a number of decisive victories in Vulkaria against the Malravian Liberation Front and the elimination of V'ana Kamoni, Libertas Omnium Maximus has announced that it will begin the withdrawal of its military from Vulkaria in the coming weeks.

The withdrawal was announced this afternoon by Major-General Alexander Wallace Jr., commanding officer of all armed forces present in Vulkaria, during a short press briefing. He began the briefing by informing the public that the Malravian Liberation Front has been deemed to no longer possess the influence or resources to stage another uprising. With their command structure all but annihilated, Wallace believes that they will never again pose a threat to the people of Vulkaria. Wallace holds the opinion that a continued Maximusian military presence in Vulkaria would be counterproductive to the nation's reconstruction.

A small garrison of Zamastanian forces will remain in Vulkaria to safeguard the nation for the time being but, aside from them, all allied forces have departed from Vulkaria or will depart in the coming weeks. Widely regarded as one of the most successful large scale counter-insurgency campaigns of the century, allied operations in Vulkaria have been praised globally both for their efficiency and efficacy.

Just as the actual military operations were praised, so too was the decision to withdraw from Vulkaria. Edward Mulberry, Chancellor of Libertas Omnium Maximus and general critic of Maximusian foreign intervention, stated via social media just hours ago that he found the entire operation from beginning to end to be very well executed. The 56-year-old politician stated: "All around I found the operations in Vulkaria by Maximusian forces to be excellently carried out. We saw what had to be done and we did it. We did exactly what was needed and now we are out. I personally congratulate General Wallace on an effective campaign. You'll never hear me complain about one less terrorist cell in the world. Good work!"
