State Department Downgrades Kerlilan Threat Level

Last night the Maximusian Department of State downgraded the Kerlilian hostility level (to Maximusian visitors) from "Active Hostile" to "Inactive Hostile." This has come after several successful negotiations with Kerlilian foreign ministers. The downgrading has come 6 months after the final shots of the Lauchenoirian Civil War were fired. Since then, a strict travel ban has been in place between the two nations.

"While that ban might not be lifted nor the no-fly zone over [Kerlilie] concluded, we believe that we are moving towards a more peaceful Central Hespia.” says State Department Press Secretary Lee Cartwright.

While Cartwright may have a fairly positive outlook on the long term relationship, many groups have vocally contested this downgrading. Maximusian Party of Freedom Head, Mike Jones reportedly told his audience at a rally, "They are just buttering us up to finish us off when the time is right!”

The outcome and long-term implications of this event have yet to be seen. One thing is for certain though, If one was looking for a peaceful and rapid end to the War with no long term aftereffects, they came to the wrong continent. For now, there will be no peace.
